Some business headaches just keep simmering away in the background. We've got a few updates that finally deal with a big one: the goulash that is foreign company data. And fittingly, we're kicking things off right at the source, in Hungary itself. Our developers have been going flat out for the past few months, and the result is three solid updates for more accurate and safer data work. We're opening up full access to the Hungarian market, launching a shiny new API 2.1, and releasing the long-awaited tool for safely cleaning your existing databases right on your own machine. Hungarian can trip up even seasoned pros. And Hungarian company data? Even more so. Cégjegyzékszám, közösségi adószám, adószám, plus the kind of accents that turn half your forms into a typo minefield. Get any of it wrong and it can throw a wrench in the customer's checkout and leave you fixing things by hand. So we went deep and built full autocomplete and validation for Hungarian companies, wired straight into the official local registers.

The fact that you won't find this anywhere else on the market is no accident. Getting Hungarian company data into a usable, always-current shape is a serious technical nut that plenty of providers have failed to crack. We didn't back down, and we did the grunt work for you. In practice it works exactly the way you're used to with Foxentry: the customer types the first few characters of a name or registration number, and the autocomplete instantly serves up matching companies. The rest of the form, including the official name, exact registered address, and tax details, fills itself in. API 2.1: tidying up the kitchen

We didn't just clean up the data, we gave the kitchen a good scrub too. We've released a new version of our API, 2.1, and from now on it's the default. It's less about flashy new tricks and more about order on the inside: we've unified parameters across every endpoint, streamlined the data structure, and reworked how things run on the backend. A lot of what Foxentry has done for ages (like returning the correct vocative form of a name for personalization) now comes in a cleaner, more consistent shape.

Why bother? Because a tidy foundation like this lets us ship new features faster and cleaner, without patches and exceptions. For the end user nothing changes at all. This one's purely for the developers working directly with our API.

Foxentry Data Cleaner: clean up your database, no GDPR headaches

Keeping new customers' data clean is one thing. But what about the historical databases that have been gathering dust in your company for years? Processing customer databases and scrubbing them of errors and invalid records is often a real challenge when it comes to security and GDPR. For a lot of companies, uploading sensitive data to external online tools and cloud storage simply isn't on the table. So we built the Foxentry Data Cleaner, a standalone app for Windows, macOS, and Linux, designed to meet strict company policies and give you full control over what happens to your data.

The whole point of the tool is this: your data never leaves your computer. The app runs entirely locally on your machine, so your CSV or Excel file is only ever read on your end, and the file itself never gets uploaded anywhere. The only outbound connection goes over secure HTTPS to api.foxentry.com, and it carries nothing but the individual, isolated field values you map for validation yourself. And for regular users there's nothing else to set up. Just download it and run it.

With sensitive data, a promise isn't enough. It has to be something you can actually check. That's why the entire Data Cleaner is open source, with its code out in the open on GitHub. Your IT team can read through it and see for themselves that it does exactly what we say and nothing more. No black box, no blind trust.

Heading for a global standard

These updates are a big milestone for us. Foxentry's architecture and data models are now fully ready to handle even the most demanding international e-commerce projects and enterprise systems. We already reliably autocomplete and validate addresses in more than 30 European countries, and some of our services run successfully on a global scale. And we're nowhere near done.

In the near future there's a major update coming to our address autocomplete and validation, with expanded features for handling complex scenarios across markets. Alongside that, we're hard at work on further company-data enrichment. To our current strong four (Czechia, Slovakia, Poland, and Hungary) we'll soon be adding more European countries, so you'll have unified, high-quality company data for the whole region. Our goal is simple: to build a reliable global standard for clean data.
